Sinclair Creek
The Sinclair Creek Greenway is located midway along the Upper Columbia River Valley, in the village of Radium Hot Springs. In 2002, CRGA began work on restoration of trout and kokanee salmon habitat within Sinclair Creek, with funds from the Pacific Salmon Foundation, Slocan Forest Products Ltd. (SFP), and the BC Ministry of Transportation.
The habitat rehabilitation prescriptions were implemented with the approval
of the Province in September 2003. The Village of Radium , Canfor, the Rotary Club of Radium
Hot Springs Sunrise, local businesses, and civic volunteers then collaborated with CRGA to
establish the Sinclair Creek Greenway trail onsite. This nature trail, completed in 2006,
offers recreation, interpretive education and spectacular sight-seeing. Onsite interpretive
panels installed in 2008 highlight the importance of this riparian habitat, as well as the
settlement history of this region.
