Reflection Lake

Reflection Lake & Mount Seven Trailhead

reflection lakeReflection Lake, at the southeast end of Golden, BC, provides excellent viewing of a diversity of waterfowl. Nearby Mount Seven is a world-class destination popular as a staging area for mountain bikers, paragliders & hang-glider pilots. Increasing traffic to both the lake and Mount Seven required that ecological impacts be controlled, and that additional visitor use facilities be installed.

The Golden Cycling Club, Wildsight, Golden Rotary Club, BC Forestry, and CRGA collaborated to design and install a trailhead for Mount Seven access, with a picnic area, outhouse facilities and a parking lot at nearby Reflection Lake. Local artist Dawna-Lea Ringer was commissioned to design interpretive panels highlighting the wildlife species visible from the Wildsight Interpretive Gazebo on Reflection Lake. This partnership provides educational information to visitors while mitigating ecological damage, by directing users to designated parking and trail areas. These facilities compliment those already onsite, such as the Mount Seven BC Forestry facilities and trails and the Rotary trails.
