The following organizations make up the Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance.

Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club

 

The Toby Creek Nordic Ski Club is the community voice for nordic skiing in the Columbia Valley, and it maintains the Lake Windermere Whiteway.  The Whiteway was developed in 2006 to connect the communities along Lake Windermere during the winter months and in 2014 the Whiteway was named the world’s longest skating trail by Guinness World Records at over 30km in length for multi-use ice-skating as well as groomed skate and classic cross-country ski trails.

Panorama Mountain Resort

 

Panorama Mountain Resort offers a myriad of trail options.  Alpine skiing is the cornerstone with 3,000 acres on 4,000 vertical feet. There is also a nordic center offering 20 kilometers of groomed trails for classic and skate. In summer a downhill mountain bike park offer trails for all riding abilities and fat bike rentals are available.  Hiking and sightseeing can be accessed from the chair lift or from the base of the mountain.

Nipika Mountain Resort

 

Nipika Mountain Resort, situated on the Kootenay River is one of Canada’s premiere eco resorts, specializing in year round self propelled outdoor recreation.  Nipika operates the Cross River Canyon Recreation Site, a massive 100 kilometer trail system for cross country skiers, snowshoers, hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners,  in partnership with Recreation Sites and Trails, BC.

Village of Canal Flats

 

The source of the fourth largest river system in North America starts within the Village of Canal Flats and winds through the wetlands.  Just off the trail, wildflowers, insects, birds and wildlife can be seen.  Large patches of cattails and water grasses also grow as they have for thousands of years.  Make sure and spend some time on the foot bridge as many many waterfowl, eagles, hawks and song birds can be seen.

Windermere Valley Dirt Riders

The Windermere Valley Dirt Riders promote recreational and competitive opportunities for off-road motor sports, in a safe and respectful manner. Our members endeavour to be environmental stewards, by focusing on education and participating in trail and back country clean up.
