Global Fat Bike Day 2015

Every year, the relatively new Fat Biking Community comes together to celebrate… well, fat bikes! Invermere came out at noon on December 5, 2015 to celebrate the new sport of Fat Biking, and took to the Johnson Trail near Lake Lillian (on the right as you drive up to Panorama – thanks Crazy Soles for organizing the event!)

Fat Bikes are specially designed to handle winter conditions, the aptly named bike style comes from the larger tires, the surface area of which helps riders enjoy trails during the snowy months. In many warmer countries, fat bikes are beginning to take root as they perform equally as well on loose sands and beaches.

Special thanks to by Eric Vanderkruk for putting together this awesome video!

Hope to see you out on the trails this winter… and don’t forget your fat bike!
