Are you under 30 years of age? Passionate about trail sports and the outdoors? Are you proficient with social media, communications, and websites? Keen to explore and document the amazing trails and activities in the Columbia Valley?

Thanks to a grant through Canada Summer Jobs, Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance is looking for someone to work with us to:

  • • Build excitement and awareness for the Markin-MacPhail Westside Legacy Trail
  • • Work with our member organizations to promote their programs and projects
  • • Update our website to reflect the upcoming completion of the Markin-MacPhail Westside Legacy Trail and begin to promote the next major project as well as other activities at CV Greenways

Responsibilities & Duties Include:

Content collection, develop, and coordinates communications through social media and other digital engagement platforms to engage the community and tourists in building awareness and using trails and greenways in the Columbia Valley.

Sources, creates, writes, edits, and publishes a variety of communications materials in accordance with established standards; advises on effective messaging and standards for content.

Knowledge of MailChimp an asset.

Maintain and update websites; develop and update webpages; review content, materials, graphics, layout, navigation, and links to ensure currency, effectiveness, functionality, consistency and conformance with goal and standards.

Knowledge of WordPress an asset.

Collection and publishing monthly trail user statistics.

Plans, coordinates, evaluates communication component of events, support event creation, planning, budgeting, and execution related to trail activities and promotion – Launch and administer virtual summer trail challenge.

Self-starter who likes to engage with the public to promote trails and collect content.

Supports member organizations communication goals through content creation and amplifying messaging

Support fundraising, donor recognition and stewardship activities through communications.

Participates in development and implementation of communications plans, policies, and procedures.

Maintains awareness of developments in social media and digital engagement; recommends changes as appropriate.

Act as ambassador for trails and project related to Greenways’ activities and mission.
