The Cross River Adaptive Trails Project

This Trail is complete and ready to use!

The Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance, and our community partners, have identified the need for more accessible trails for adaptive trail sports in the Columbia Valley. The Cross River Adaptive Trails Project would improve 26km of existing trails, and build 10km of new trails, to a standard acceptable for access by adapted trail bikes for paraplegic and quadriplegic trail users. These trails would connect with the 50km of current cross-country ski trails which would also be accessible to a wider range of users, resulting in 86km of usable trails for adaptive trail sports. In doing so, we would also be able to broaden the spectrum of trail users who can access these trails, including fat bikes, adaptive and non-adaptive mountain bikers, hikers, snowshoers, and ski tourers. Our primary work will be developing new routes to link a series of loops of various lengths together.
