The Cross River Adaptive Trails Project Nipika Mountain Resort Completed : 31/10/2019Started: 01/08/2019Distance: 10 KM The Columbia Valley Greenways Trail Alliance, and our community partners, have identified the need for more accessible trails for adaptive trail sports in the Columbia Valley. The Cross River Adaptive Trails Project would improve 26km of existing trails, and build 10km of new trails, to a standard acceptable for access by adapted trail bikes for paraplegic and quadriplegic trail users. These trails would connect with the 50km of current cross-country ski trails which would also be accessible to a wider range of users, resulting in 86km of usable trails for adaptive trail sports. In doing so, we would also be able to broaden the spectrum of trail users who can access these trails, including fat bikes, adaptive and non-adaptive mountain bikers, hikers, snowshoers, and ski tourers. Our primary work will be developing new routes to link a series of loops of various lengths together. Read more View on CVTrails.ca

The Sinclair Creek Greenway Sinclair Creek Completed : 01/01/2006Started: 01/01/2002Distance: 4.00 kmElevation: 64.50 mAverage Time: < 1 Hour A gem of a trail right in Radium with super easy access. The trail from the lower parking lot is relatively flat as it follows the banks of Sinclair Creek in a 2 km loop that crosses the creek with bridges in 2 places. Interpretive signs tell of restoration efforts, salmon spawning and irrigation work in the past. This is an off leash area for dogs. There are 2 picnic tables close to the lower parking lot and several benches along the way. A nice oasis which is perfect for an afternoon picnic. Add another 2 km and 40 - 60 metres in elevation gain/loss by hiking the offshoots that go to Rotary Park or the residential area to the north. Read more View on CVTrails.ca
